Indian bourses to hold special Muhurat trading session on Diwali

India's premier stock exchanges will observe the traditional Muhurat trading session on Diwali, a symbolic market opening that has been a longstanding feature of the Indian financial calendar. The Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE) and National Stock Exchange (NSE) will conduct the special trading window to mark the auspicious occasion and commence the new financial year on a prosperous note.

The Muhurat trading session will operate from 2:20 PM to 3:30 PM, providing investors and traders with a one-hour window to execute transactions. Prior to the main trading window, a 15-minute pre-opening session will be held between 2:05 PM and 2:20 PM, during which market participants can place their orders.

This ceremonial trading session is a departure from regular market hours and is steeped in tradition, reflecting the cultural significance of Diwali in India's business and financial community. The limited trading window allows market participants to participate in the festivities while conducting symbolic trades aligned with the festival's spirit of new beginnings and prosperity.

Investors and traders are advised to note the special timings and plan their trading activities accordingly. The session is expected to witness heightened sentiment as market participants usher in the new financial year with optimism.
