India's primary markets demonstrated robust momentum in July as companies raised a record Rs 1.92 lakh crore through various fundraising mechanisms, signalling strong investor appetite and favourable market conditions.
Mainboard initial public offerings contributed significantly to the monthly surge, with 13 IPOs mobilising Rs 18,349 crore. This represents the highest monthly fundraising through mainboard IPOs since December 2025, underscoring renewed confidence among companies seeking to access public capital markets.
Qualified institutional placements, which allow listed companies to raise capital from institutional investors without regulatory restrictions, emerged as a substantial driver of the overall capital-raising momentum. The strong performance of QIPs reflects institutional investors' confidence in corporate fundamentals and their willingness to participate in private placements at competitive valuations.
The record capital-raising activity in July indicates a favourable outlook for India's equity markets and corporate sector expansion. Market participants attribute the surge to improved macroeconomic conditions, better corporate earnings visibility, and strong institutional investor participation across various fundraising channels.
