The incident, which occurred on a service heading toward Israel, resulted in the captain being injured during the struggle in the cockpit, yet he maintained control of the aircraft and its 180-plus passengers and crew members. Following the captain's intervention, two off-duty pilots who were among the passengers stepped in to assist with the aircraft's descent and landing.
