Indian delegation in Islamabad for SCO coordinators' meeting
A high-level Indian delegation has arrived in Islamabad for a three-day meeting of Shanghai Cooperation Organisation national coordinators. The talks will focus on activities under Pakistan's SCO presidency and preparations for the leaders' summit scheduled for August 2027.

The Indian delegation reached the Pakistani capital on Tuesday to participate in the multilateral consultations, which bring together senior officials responsible for coordinating SCO affairs in member states. The meeting represents a continuation of diplomatic engagement between the two neighbours within the framework of the regional security and economic bloc.
During the three-day session, national coordinators are expected to review ongoing SCO initiatives and programmes under Pakistan's current chairmanship of the organisation. Officials will exchange views on strengthening cooperation in areas including security, counterterrorism, trade facilitation, and cultural exchanges among member states.
The consultations also serve as a preparatory platform for the SCO leaders' summit, one of the organisation's flagship annual events. With the summit scheduled for August 2027, the coordinators' meeting will help establish priorities and draft proposals for consideration at the highest level.
The SCO, comprising India, Pakistan, China, Russia, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, and Uzbekistan, has emerged as a significant platform for regional cooperation since its founding in 2001. Pakistan assumed the rotating SCO presidency following India's tenure, continuing the bloc's practice of shared leadership.
