Indian hotels report strong winter wedding bookings, double-digit growth expected
Premium hotel chains across India are experiencing robust advance bookings for weddings ahead of the winter season, with marquee properties reporting 15 per cent year-on-year growth and securing commitments well into 2027. The trend reflects changing consumer behavior, with families locking in venues considerably earlier than in previous years.

India's high-end hotel sector is capitalizing on surging demand for destination weddings, with luxury properties reporting near-full occupancy during peak months and strong pipeline visibility extending several quarters ahead. Noor Mahal in Delhi NCR, which operates as the country's first Autograph Collection Hotel by Marriott International, exemplifies the momentum, with its wedding business growing approximately 15 per cent year-on-year and substantial bookings already confirmed through 2027.
Executive Director Roop Partap Choudhary attributed the growth to encouraging market sentiment and an expanding customer demographic seeking premium wedding venues. "We are witnessing encouraging momentum in the wedding segment, with approximately 15 per cent growth over last year, accompanied by an expanding and more diverse customer demographic," he said.
A notable shift in booking patterns has emerged, with families committing to wedding venues much earlier than in previous seasons, providing hotels with extended visibility into future business. This advance commitment trend has enabled premium properties to optimize capacity planning and staffing decisions ahead of peak wedding months, typically concentrated in the winter season.
The surge underscores the continued resilience of India's experiential hospitality sector and the premium wedding market's evolution toward destination celebrations at established luxury properties rather than traditional venues.
