The Indian Embassy in Riyadh confirmed on Thursday that one Indian national died and two others sustained injuries in the assault on Dammam airport that occurred Wednesday night. Saudi authorities notified the embassy of the casualties, which also included a second fatality among airport personnel.
In a statement posted on social media, the embassy said it was gathering additional information and reaching out to the families of those affected. "Our thoughts and prayers are with the family and loved ones of the deceased and we wish speedy recovery of the injured," the mission stated.
The Dammam airport attack represents the latest in an escalating campaign of drone and missile strikes targeting critical Saudi infrastructure. The incident follows a separate drone attack on the Shaybah oilfield, where an Indian worker was injured the previous day.
Yemen's Houthi rebels have intensified attacks on Saudi Arabia's airports, energy facilities and other key installations in recent months. The strikes have raised concerns among foreign nationals working in the kingdom, particularly in sensitive sectors such as oil and aviation.
