Indian Para-Athlete Anmol Vashisht Handed Three-Year Doping Ban

Indian para-athlete Anmol Vashisht has been banned from competition for three years by the International Paralympic Committee following a doping violation. The suspension runs from April 24, 2026, through April 23, 2029, during which period Vashisht is ineligible to compete in any sanctioned tournament.

The IPC has also invalidated Vashisht's results from the men's javelin throw F55 category at the New Delhi World Para Athletics Grand Prix, stripping the athlete of any medals or rankings earned at that event.

The ban represents a significant setback for the Indian para-athletics program and marks another addition to a growing list of doping cases in Indian sports. Para-athletes are subject to the same anti-doping regulations as their able-bodied counterparts under World Anti-Doping Agency protocols.

Vashisht's suspension prevents him from participating in major international competitions during the three-year period, including any Paralympic Games or world championships held during this window. The athlete has not publicly commented on the ruling as of now.
