Indian Railways launches month-long ticket verification drive

Central Railway has announced a comprehensive ticket verification initiative set to commence on October 1 and run through October 31. The month-long drive will focus on validating the authenticity of concessional tickets, checking proper utilization of reservation quotas, inspecting railway passes, and reviewing group booking compliance.

Authorities will intensify checks across all train services operated under Central Railway's jurisdiction during this period. The verification exercise aims to ensure that concessional fares and special booking provisions are being used by eligible passengers in accordance with railway regulations.

Passengers are strongly advised to carry original identity proof documents while traveling during the campaign period. These documents serve as verification that ticket holders meet the eligibility criteria for the fares or quotas they have utilized. Those unable to produce requisite documentation may face penalties as per existing railway rules.

The initiative is part of broader efforts by Indian Railways to maintain fare collection integrity and prevent misuse of concessional schemes designed for specific passenger categories. Similar verification drives have been conducted periodically by various railway zones to ensure compliance with ticketing norms.
