Indian Railways launches special Dasara services on Arsikere-Mysuru route

Indian Railways has rolled out special train services connecting Arsikere and Mysuru ahead of the Dasara festival, a major celebration across South India that draws significant passenger traffic. The initiative aims to augment transport capacity during the festive period when travel demand peaks substantially.

The dedicated services will make scheduled halts at nineteen stations along the corridor, including major junctions at Hassan and Krishnarajanagara, alongside smaller stations such as Habanghatta, Bageshapura, Mavinkere, and Holenarsipur. The comprehensive stoppage pattern ensures connectivity across multiple towns and villages in the region, supporting both festival pilgrims and regular commuters.

The route also encompasses stops at Annechakanahalli, Sravanur, Mandagere, Birahalli, Akkihebbalu, Hosa Agrahara, Arjunahalli, Hampapura, Dornahalli, Sagarkatte, Kallur Yadahalli, and Belagula, providing extensive coverage of the Arsikere-Mysuru corridor. This expansion of rail connectivity reflects efforts to manage increased passenger volumes during festival seasons.

Dasara, celebrated across South and Southeast India, typically witnesses a surge in travel as families undertake pilgrimages and leisure journeys. The special train services form part of broader railway initiatives to enhance accessibility during major festivals and reduce pressure on existing transportation infrastructure.
