Indian rowers Satnam, Salman win maiden Asian Games double sculls bronze
Satnam Singh and Salman Khan secured India's first-ever men's double sculls medal at the Asian Games on Thursday with a bronze finish. The pair clocked 6:13.25 at the Nagaragawa International Regatta Course in a competitive final.

The Indian duo maintained second position until the 1,500-metre mark before losing ground in the final 500 metres to finish 3.88 seconds behind gold medallists China's Yi Xudi and Yide Nie, who crossed in 6:09.37. Uzbekistan's Pavel Sorin and Mekhrojbek Mamatkulov secured the silver medal with a time of 6:10.49.
Satnam's bronze adds to his previous medal haul at the Asian Games, having won bronze in the men's quadruple sculls at the Hangzhou edition. The achievement marks a significant milestone for India's rowing programme at the continental showcase.
The Indian contingent's rowing efforts were tempered by a near-miss in the men's single sculls final, where Balraj Panwar narrowly missed the podium in fourth place. Panwar clocked 6:54.80 and held second position through the 500m, 1,000m and 1,500m splits before slipping back in the closing stages. China's Deng Zhiwei took the gold medal in that event.
