Indian shooters begin final Asian Games preparation in Delhi, Bhopal

India's contingent of Olympic shooters will undertake final preparatory camps at two of the country's leading shooting academies as they enter the crucial phase before competing at the Asian Games. The National Rifle Association of India has structured the training programme across the MP State Shooting Academy in Bhopal and the Karni Singh Range in Delhi, with different disciplines following tailored schedules.

Pistol and rifle shooters selected for the continental championship will train at the Bhopal facility from September 5 to 14, while skeet competitors have already commenced their camp at the Karni Singh Range. Trap shooters will occupy the Delhi range from September 10 to 18, allowing the federation to concentrate resources and expertise at each venue.

Pierre Beauchamp, the NRAI's High Performance Director, indicated that the final camps represent a strategic shift in preparation methodology. "At this stage, our focus shifts from volume to precision, mental conditioning, and technical refinement," Beauchamp stated, emphasizing that sports science support and specialized coaching would underpin the training structure.

The bifurcated approach reflects the federation's emphasis on discipline-specific preparation in the countdown to Asia's premier multi-sport event. With less than three weeks separating the camps from competition, coaches and support staff will concentrate on psychological readiness and technique optimization rather than building fitness or fundamentals.
