The Indian pair posted a final score of 34 after qualifying fourth, comfortably outpacing Qatar's Mohammed Al-Rumaihi and Ray Bassil, who secured silver with 32 points. China's Qi Ying and Sun Yunong claimed bronze with a score of 23.
The victory marks a historic achievement for India's shooting contingent at the Games. The new Asian Games record eclipses the previous mark of 30, which Qatar had set earlier this year in January.
The medal rounds off an exceptional showing by Neeru at the continental competition. The 26-year-old shooter made history on Tuesday when she became India's first woman to win an individual trap medal at the Asian Games, also establishing an Asian record in the process.
