Dhakshineswar Suresh powered past Indonesia's Gunawan Trismuwantara 7-5, 7-6(2) in a closely contested second-round encounter that lasted one hour and 25 minutes. The Indian, who received a first-round bye, demonstrated composure under pressure to seal his progression despite a significant ranking disparity between the two players.

Meanwhile, Sumit Nagal dispatched South Korea's Seongchan Hong 6-4, 6-0 in his rain-interrupted match, which extended to three hours and four minutes.
