India's tyre manufacturers have posted a 16 per cent increase in exports during the April-June quarter of FY27, reaching ₹7,700 crore in value. The performance reflects the sector's ability to navigate a challenging global environment marked by geopolitical tensions and supply-chain volatility.
The quarter's growth represents a continuation of the strong momentum achieved in FY26, when the industry recorded its highest-ever annual export value of ₹27,312 crore. Industry participants have attributed the sustained performance to competitive pricing, quality improvements, and diversification of export markets across regions.
Despite headwinds including elevated production costs and logistical constraints, Indian tyre manufacturers have managed to expand their international presence. The sector's resilience comes as global demand for automotive tyres remains steady, supported by vehicle sales recovery in key markets.
Analysts point to the industry's structural advantages, including access to raw materials and skilled labour, as factors underpinning export competitiveness. The sector's ability to absorb cost pressures while maintaining margin stability has also helped sustain export growth through the current quarter.
