Indian visitors surge to over 600,000 in Singapore during first half of 2026
India has cemented its position as a key source market for Singapore's tourism sector, with visitor arrivals exceeding 600,000 in the first six months of 2026. The strong performance underscores the resilience of travel between the two nations amid global economic uncertainties.

The Singapore Tourism Board revealed Wednesday that Indian travellers accounted for a significant portion of the city-state's visitor intake during the January-June period, demonstrating consistent growth despite headwinds faced by the global travel industry.
Markus Tan, STB's Regional Director for India, Middle East, South Asia and Africa, attributed the robust figures to longstanding partnerships cultivated with Indian travellers, airlines and travel trade operators. "India's consistent performance is particularly meaningful given the global headwinds the travel industry has had to navigate in recent times," Tan said, highlighting the depth of relationships underpinning the bilateral tourism relationship.
Indian visitors also led in spending metrics, recording SGD 374 million in tourism expenditure during the first quarter of 2026 alone. The strong economic contribution underscores India's premium positioning within Singapore's visitor economy.
Overall, Singapore welcomed 8.19 million international travellers during the first half of 2026. Going forward, the tourism board indicated its commitment to strengthening partnerships with stakeholders to maintain Singapore's appeal as a compelling and accessible destination for Indian travellers and visitors from across the region.
