IndiGo has advised passengers to remain updated on their flight status as low visibility conditions continue to affect operations at Hyderabad's Rajiv Gandhi International Airport. The airline, in a statement shared on social media, acknowledged the weather-related challenges impacting the facility and said it is taking measures to ensure travelers reach their destinations safely.
The carrier urged passengers booked on flights from Hyderabad to check with the airline before heading to the airport and to monitor their bookings regularly for any schedule changes. Such visibility-related disruptions are not uncommon during winter months at Indian airports, though they typically result in delays rather than cancellations.
IndiGo emphasized that all necessary safety protocols are being followed and that ground and air operations teams are working coordinated efforts to manage the situation. The airline has not disclosed specific flight delays or the expected duration of the advisory.
Low visibility operations require stricter adherence to instrument landing procedures and can reduce the airport's capacity to handle aircraft movements. Hyderabad Airport, one of India's busier hubs serving the southern region, handles several hundred flights daily across domestic and international routes.
