Indore's Juni Indore police station arrested Kalp Kakariya following the seizure of cocaine from a luxury Mercedes vehicle near Dhobi Ghat, according to law enforcement officials. The quantity of the drug recovered exceeded 2 grams, placing the case under relevant provisions of India's narcotic drug laws.
During interrogation, Kakariya revealed that his entry into the drug supply network occurred through a contact he met at a friend's birthday party. The individual allegedly facilitated his connection to a larger narcotics operation, police said.
Investigators are now focusing on dismantling the supply chain connected to the seizure and identifying other individuals involved in the distribution network. Police have launched a broader investigation to trace the source of the drugs and determine the extent of Kakariya's involvement in the trafficking operation.
The arrest adds to ongoing efforts by state police to combat drug trafficking across Madhya Pradesh. Authorities have intensified surveillance operations targeting high-end vehicles and known trafficking routes in Indore in recent months.
