IndusInd Bank unveiled its new Global Capability Centres banking vertical on Monday, consolidating corporate and employee banking services into a single specialized offering tailored to the sector's requirements. The integrated approach aims to streamline how GCCs manage their business operations, workforce needs and cross-border financial transactions.
India's GCC ecosystem has experienced substantial growth in recent years, expanding 32 per cent since the 2020-21 fiscal year. The country currently hosts 2,117 Global Capability Centres, reflecting its emergence as a preferred destination for multinational corporations seeking to establish technology and back-office operations.
The scope of GCC activities has broadened significantly beyond traditional shared-services models. Modern centres increasingly handle strategic functions including technology development, engineering, data analytics, finance operations and research activities for parent organizations worldwide, making specialized banking support increasingly important.
By combining corporate and employee banking capabilities within a dedicated relationship framework, IndusInd Bank said the new vertical enables GCCs to access more comprehensive financial solutions tailored to their specific operational demands. The bank's move reflects growing recognition of the sector's importance to India's services economy and its rising profile as a global business hub.
