Industry body aids displaced True Fitness staff in job search

The Singapore Fitness Alliance said it is stepping in to help affected employees and freelancers from True Fitness and True Yoga secure new employment opportunities as the fitness chains wind down operations.

The industry association said it would leverage its network of member companies and partners to facilitate job placements for displaced staff. The initiative aims to minimise disruption to workers' livelihoods during the transition period.

However, the Alliance clarified that its involvement is limited to employment assistance. It will not participate in efforts to recover outstanding salaries, commissions, or other financial claims against the affected companies, leaving such matters to affected employees to pursue independently or through official channels.

The closures mark a significant development in Singapore's fitness sector, which has faced considerable headwinds in recent years. The Alliance's intervention underscores industry efforts to support workers navigating the challenging landscape.

Affected staff members have been advised to register with the Alliance's job placement portal and connect with member establishments seeking to hire fitness professionals and support staff.
