Industry body urges government to clear outstanding RTF payments

The Federation of Indian Automobile Manufacturers (FATHI) has written to government authorities requesting immediate clearance of outstanding Road Tax Fund (RTF) liabilities, citing mounting financial strain on member companies.

According to the industry body, the delayed payments have begun to impact cash flow and operational capacity across the automotive manufacturing sector. FATHI representatives stated that timely settlement of these dues is essential for sustaining production levels and investment in the industry.

The federation has urged government officials to prioritise the release of pending RTF funds and establish a clear timeline for outstanding disbursements. Industry sources indicated that the accumulated arrears have affected both large manufacturers and smaller component suppliers within the ecosystem.

Government officials have not yet issued a public response to the request. FATHI indicated it would continue engaging with relevant ministries to resolve the matter, emphasising the importance of stable government payments for long-term automotive sector growth.
