Motilal Oswal Financial Services (MOFSL) has maintained its optimistic stance on Infosys, citing 13% upside potential despite the company's recent reduction in full-year guidance. The brokerage's revised outlook comes after the IT services firm announced changes to its contract portfolio during second-quarter results.
The primary headwind identified by analysts is the impact of Infosys' exit from the Daimler engagement, which is expected to create a significant revenue drag primarily in the fourth quarter of the fiscal year. This timing has introduced uncertainty around the company's exit growth rate for FY28, according to MOFSL's assessment.
The guidance cut reflects management's conservative approach to accounting for the Daimler contract termination and its cascading effects on the full-year performance trajectory. Despite these near-term challenges, the brokerage believes the company's underlying business fundamentals and growth drivers remain intact.
MFOSL's revised target price attempts to balance the downside risks from reduced visibility with the medium-term growth prospects of India's second-largest IT services exporter. The 13% upside estimate suggests analysts see value in the current valuations, even as investors grapple with near-term execution uncertainties.
