Injured green turtle rescued from Adam's Bridge Marine Park
A six-foot female green sea turtle suffering from serious head injuries has been rescued from waters off Talaimannar. Park officials and naval personnel coordinated a swift rescue operation at the protected marine sanctuary.

The injured turtle was discovered yesterday afternoon in the Old Pier area of Adam's Bridge Marine National Park, located off the Talaimannar coast. Officers from the park management and Sri Lanka Navy personnel responded promptly to secure the animal, which was identified as a female green sea turtle (Chelonia mydas) exhibiting visible head trauma.
The joint rescue operation represents ongoing efforts by authorities to protect marine wildlife in the region's sensitive ecosystems. The Adam's Bridge Marine National Park, designated to conserve the area's unique biodiversity, regularly encounters marine creatures requiring intervention.
