Inter Milan stages dramatic comeback to reclaim Serie A top spot

Inter Milan produced a stirring comeback performance to edge past Fiorentina 2-1 on Sunday, reclaiming top position in Serie A following a tense encounter at the San Siro. The Nerazzurri trailed for much of the match before turning the game on its head with two strikes in the closing stages.

Thuram levelled the contest in the 91st minute to breathe new life into Inter's challenge, setting up a dramatic finale. Just seven minutes later, Zielinski converted a penalty to secure a 2-1 victory and hand his side a crucial three points.

The result allows Inter to edge ahead in the standings following a frustrating period where the Milanese club had surrendered ground to rivals. The manner of the victory, sealed through late interventions, underscores the team's resilience and title credentials as the season reaches its critical phase.

The win provides Simone Inzaghi's side with momentum heading into their upcoming fixtures, though Fiorentina will rue their failure to hold onto what appeared a winning position for large stretches of the match.
