Inter-state slingshot gang arrested after Faridabad police encounter

Police in Faridabad apprehended members of a criminal syndicate operating across state lines after an armed encounter on Wednesday. Two suspects sustained bullet injuries during the operation, while authorities also arrested a wanted criminal carrying a reward on his head.

The gang, known for its unconventional modus operandi, allegedly used slingshots to fire marbles at residential houses to determine which properties were unoccupied. Once they identified empty homes, the group would proceed to commit burglaries and robberies in the area.

The inter-state network, based primarily in Madhya Pradesh, had been operating a coordinated crime spree across multiple jurisdictions. Faridabad Police recovered stolen goods and weapons during the operation. Further investigation is underway to ascertain the group's involvement in other criminal cases and to apprehend any remaining members.

The arrests mark a significant development in police efforts to dismantle organized crime networks operating across northern India.
