M.Y. Karidurganavar, a retired chemistry professor, called on youth to harness interdisciplinary knowledge as a tool for achieving all-round progress during the opening of a one-day national seminar. The event, titled 'Recent Advances in Interdisciplinary Sciences for a Sustainable Future', was organised by Basaveshwar Science College under the BVV Sangha umbrella.
Karidurganavar emphasised that siloed academic approaches are insufficient for addressing contemporary challenges. He stressed that combining insights from multiple scientific disciplines offers a more holistic framework for innovation and problem-solving.
The seminar brought together academic and research professionals to discuss emerging developments at the intersection of various scientific fields. The focus on sustainability underscored growing recognition of the need for integrated solutions to environmental and social challenges.
The event reflected broader efforts within Indian educational institutions to encourage students and scholars to adopt cross-disciplinary perspectives in their work, particularly as institutions grapple with complex issues ranging from climate change to public health.
