MANILA — Interior Secretary Jonvic Remulla said negotiations were underway with purported associates of Senator Ronald "Bato" dela Rosa as authorities work to apprehend the fugitive legislator.
"We know where he is, but there are negotiations now with his protectors and I think we'll get to him soon," Remulla said during an interview on One News' Storycon program Tuesday.
The interior chief did not provide additional details about the identities of those protecting the senator or the specific terms being discussed. His remarks suggest authorities have narrowed the search but are pursuing a negotiated approach rather than a direct enforcement action.
