International visitors discover Vietnamese heritage at Hanoi ethnic village

The Hanoi Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism organised the visit on October 2, welcoming foreign guests to experience Vietnam's diverse ethnic communities and traditional practices. The tour of the facility in Doai Phuong commune highlighted the nation's cultural heritage and tourism offerings ahead of the second Cultures of the World Festival scheduled for 2026 in the capital.

The Vietnam National Village for Ethnic Culture and Tourism serves as a living repository of Vietnamese traditions, featuring exhibits and demonstrations from the country's 54 recognised ethnic groups. The venue provides visitors with insights into traditional crafts, architecture, cuisine and customs that have shaped Vietnamese society across centuries.

Organisers said the international delegation's visit reflected the festival's broader mission to foster cultural exchange and understanding among nations. The 2026 event aims to position Hanoi as a regional hub for intercultural dialogue while promoting Vietnam's cultural assets to global audiences.

The tour underscored Vietnam's commitment to preserving ethnic traditions while adapting them for contemporary tourism and cultural development. Officials indicated that similar initiatives would continue as part of preparations to welcome international participants to the upcoming festival.
