The driver of the Mini Cooper has been identified as Suhail Sajeev. Preliminary investigations suggest he was under the influence of alcohol at the time of the incident. Eyewitnesses present at the scene restrained Sajeev and held him until police arrived at the location.

Kerala police have registered a case under relevant sections of the Indian Penal Code and the Motor Vehicles Act. Authorities are conducting further investigation into the circumstances surrounding the accident, including toxicology reports and vehicle inspection reports.
