Invesco, Motilal Oswal lead mutual fund asset growth in Q2

Mutual fund assets under management expanded sharply in the July-September quarter, driven by strong contributions from domestic and international asset managers operating in India's growing investment market.

Invesco and Motilal Oswal Financial Services spearheaded the growth trajectory, each recording quarter-on-quarter AUM increases exceeding 10 percent. HSBC also joined the high-growth cohort during the period, demonstrating sustained investor appetite across multiple fund categories and market segments.

State Bank of India's mutual fund arm remained the industry's largest volume contributor, adding ₹53,146 crore to assets under management. The figure underscored retail investors' continued confidence in equity and debt instruments amid broader economic expansion.

The quarter-on-quarter performance reflected buoyant domestic equity markets and steady inflows into fixed-income schemes. Industry participants attributed the momentum to improving consumer savings behavior and growing awareness of long-term wealth creation through mutual funds.

Asset managers across the sector benefited from sustained policy support for financial inclusion and capital market deepening, positioning the industry for continued expansion in subsequent quarters.
