IOC and OCA chiefs to inspect Aichi-Nagoya athletes' village post-opening
International Olympic Committee President Kirsty Coverty and Olympic Council of Asia President Sheikh Joaan bin Hamad Al Thani will tour the athletes' accommodation facilities at the Aichi-Nagoya Asian Games on September 20, one day after the Games' opening ceremony.

The two officials will visit the Garden Pier section of the athletes' village at 11am on September 20, where they are scheduled to meet with athletes representing the 45 participating National Olympic Committees, according to an announcement made at Monday's Chefs de Mission meeting.
Unlike traditional Asian Games, the Aichi-Nagoya edition features a distributed accommodation model. Athletes and officials will be housed across multiple venues including a cruise liner, temporary Asian Games villas at Garden Pier, and hotels throughout Nagoya city and Aichi prefecture.
The cruise liner is set to dock at Kinjo Pier in the Port of Nagoya on Tuesday, with a welcoming ceremony planned for 1pm. The vessel will serve as a key accommodation hub for the Games, which officially commence on September 19 with the opening ceremony.
This inspection visit underscores the IOC and OCA's commitment to ensuring proper facilities and athlete welfare during the regional sporting event.
