Economists warn that sustained military spending at current levels will have broader economic consequences. The conflict is forecast to lift inflation by 0.5 percent during the first quarter of 2027, adding pressure to already-strained consumer finances across the region and beyond.
The extended engagement is also straining defence logistics, particularly regarding weapons replenishment. Military planners estimate it will take up to five years to fully restore munitions stockpiles to pre-conflict levels, potentially limiting operational capacity and extending procurement timelines.
