Iran, Oman agree to open temporary corridor in Strait of Hormuz

Iran's top national security official Mohsen Rezaei announced the agreement with Oman regarding the temporary corridor through the Strait of Hormuz, one of the world's most critical maritime chokepoints for global energy supplies.

Rezaei linked the complete reopening of the passage to the implementation of Iran's demands toward the United States, signalling that the temporary arrangement represents only a partial measure while broader negotiations remain unresolved.

The Strait of Hormuz, through which roughly one-third of global maritime oil trade transits, has been a focal point of regional tensions. The agreement between Iran and Oman suggests diplomatic efforts to manage navigation through the waterway, though underlying disputes continue.
