Iran Ready to Return to US Ceasefire Deal, President Says
Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian has signalled his country's willingness to resume a ceasefire agreement with the United States if Washington reciprocates, marking a conciliatory stance following recent military exchanges between the two nations.

Speaking at the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation summit in Kyrgyzstan, President Pezeshkian stated that Iran would immediately honour its obligations under a memorandum of understanding if the US returns to its commitments, according to Iranian state media.
The June agreement established an immediate ceasefire and initiated a 60-day negotiation window aimed at achieving a comprehensive peace settlement. The latest remarks come after the first direct military engagement between Tehran and Washington in approximately a month, raising regional tensions.
Pezeshkian's statement represents a potential opening for diplomatic engagement at a time when Middle East tensions have remained elevated. The Iranian leadership has previously expressed frustration over what it characterises as inconsistent American adherence to international agreements.
The ceasefire agreement had marked a significant shift in US-Iran relations, though implementation has been subject to ongoing disputes over interpretation and compliance.
