Iran has flatly rejected accusations from Saudi Arabia linking it to military operations conducted by the Houthi movement in Yemen, according to reports from the region. The denials underscore the ongoing diplomatic friction between the two regional powers over their respective spheres of influence and military activities.

The Houthis are widely recognized as a central component of what Iranian officials and analysts describe as the "Axis of Resistance," a loose coalition of Iran-aligned militant and political organizations spanning the Middle East. This network includes Lebanon's Hezbollah and various Iranian-backed armed factions operating across Iraq, all of which share a common stance against Israeli interests in the region.

Saudi Arabia has previously held Iran responsible for providing material support, training, and strategic direction to the Houthis, particularly regarding advanced weaponry and drone technology used in cross-border operations. Tehran has consistently maintained that while it shares ideological and political alignment with these groups, it does not directly command their military operations.

The exchange reflects deeper geopolitical divisions in the Middle East, where Iran and Saudi Arabia compete for regional dominance through proxy forces and allied movements. The dispute carries implications for maritime security, regional stability, and ongoing efforts by international powers to manage tensions in the strategically vital Arabian Peninsula.
