Iran's President Dismisses US Dialogue as Pointless Amid Tensions

Pezeshkian said on Tuesday that attempts at dialogue with the US were futile, citing what he characterised as renewed hostile actions by Washington as evidence of its true strategic objectives. The Iranian leader argued that American military conduct contradicted any stated willingness to engage in serious negotiations.

The president's comments reflect deepening friction between Tehran and Washington over regional security concerns and the trajectory of bilateral relations. Iran has repeatedly accused the United States of pursuing regime change policies under the guise of diplomatic engagement.

Pezeshkian's remarks underscore the persistent impasse between the two nations, which have had no formal diplomatic relations since the 1979 Islamic Revolution. The statement comes as tensions remain elevated across the Middle East, with ongoing disputes over Iran's nuclear programme and regional military activities continuing to dominate the diplomatic landscape.

The Iranian government has previously indicated that any meaningful dialogue would require the US to demonstrate good faith through concrete policy shifts and a cessation of what Tehran views as provocative military posturing in the region.
