Iran warns of unlimited retaliation if US launches military strikes

Iran has delivered a forceful message to Washington, vowing to respond with unrestricted military action should the US proceed with strikes against Tehran or reject its negotiating position. The warning was conveyed through Qatari mediators, underscoring the role of third-party diplomacy in managing the escalating tensions between the two nations.

As part of its diplomatic overture, Iran has put forward seven conditions for a ceasefire, seeking to establish parameters for dialogue with the United States. The proposal represents Tehran's attempt to balance military deterrence with diplomatic engagement during a period of heightened regional tensions.

Iranian officials emphasized that any regional state choosing to support American military action would face consequences and become entangled in the broader conflict. The statement appeared aimed at deterring potential coalition partners and signalling Iran's readiness to expand the scope of any confrontation.

Parliament Speaker Mohammad Baqer Ghalibaf reiterated Iran's dual-track approach, stressing the government's commitment to both military preparedness and sustained diplomatic negotiations. This posture suggests Tehran is attempting to maintain credible deterrence capabilities while keeping diplomatic channels open for a negotiated resolution.
