IRB Infra Q2 profit jumps 85% on robust toll collection growth

IRB Infrastructure Developers posted a net profit of ₹260.15 crore in the second quarter of fiscal 2026-27, marking an 84.85% year-on-year increase from the previous year's corresponding period. The infrastructure developer's improved financial performance was driven primarily by accelerating toll revenue collections across its portfolio of highway concessions.

Toll revenue grew 15% during the quarter, reflecting increased vehicular traffic on national highways and improved operational efficiency across the company's toll plazas. The growth underscores rising economic activity and increased commercial movement in key corridors where IRB operates its concessions.

Contributing to the bottom-line strength was a significant uptick in distributions received from IRB Infrastructure Investment Trust (InvIT), the infrastructure investment vehicle through which the company holds and monetizes several of its highway assets. These distributions supplemented toll collections to bolster overall profitability.

The results demonstrate the resilience of IRB's core toll business amid the current economic environment. The company continues to benefit from stable cash flows generated by its diversified portfolio of operational highway concessions across India, reinforcing its position as a key player in the nation's road infrastructure sector.
