IRB urges taxpayers to seize closing amnesty windows for stamp duty, e-invoicing
The Inland Revenue Board of Malaysia is reminding taxpayers that grace periods for stamp duty relief and e-invoice compliance are drawing to a close. Those eligible are urged to act immediately to avoid losing access to the voluntary disclosure opportunities.

KUALA LUMPUR — The Inland Revenue Board of Malaysia (IRB) has issued a fresh call to taxpayers to take advantage of remaining amnesty windows for stamp duty and e-invoice compliance before deadlines expire.
The twin grace periods form part of the IRB's tax literacy and compliance programme, designed to encourage voluntary adherence to tax obligations while offering relief from penalties. Officials emphasise that both initiatives provide significant benefits to eligible taxpayers, with the amnesty windows narrowing as deadlines approach.
The stamp duty amnesty allows qualifying taxpayers to settle outstanding liabilities with reduced or waived penalties, while the e-invoice compliance window provides businesses additional time to implement digital invoicing requirements without facing enforcement action.
Taxpayers are advised to verify their eligibility and submission deadlines through the IRB's official website or by contacting their nearest IRB office. The board has stressed that extensions beyond the announced cutoff dates will not be granted, and those who miss the windows will face standard penalty regimes.
Authorities urge businesses and individuals to prioritise compliance during the remaining grace period to avoid potential legal and financial consequences.
