REINA MERCEDES, Isabela — Vice Mayor Jeryll Harold Respicio of Reina Mercedes has been cleared by a comprehensive drug test conducted at St. Luke Medical Center in Quezon City, according to results released Wednesday.
Respicio underwent the P28,000 examination and tested negative, the local official confirmed following receipt of his results. The screening comes amid ongoing anti-drug operations and related compliance measures across the country.
Following the clearance, Respicio lightheartedly challenged Interior Secretary Jonvic Remulla to reimburse the examination costs, citing the official's role in overseeing the government's drug prevention and enforcement initiatives.
The vice mayor's move reflects a broader trend among local officials undergoing drug testing as part of government transparency and accountability measures in various municipalities nationwide.
