The institute, which focuses on academic work related to Islamic identities, released a statement expressing deep sorrow and extending solidarity to the university community as it grapples with the tragedy.
The shooting occurred on Tuesday at the private educational institution located in Pagadian City. Details regarding the circumstances of the incident and the identities of the victims remain under investigation.
Ateneo de Davao University, another prominent academic institution in the region, also joined the Al Qalam Institute in mourning the loss of the two students and expressing support for the affected community.
