Israel defence minister vows to complete Gaza operation, remove Palestinians

Israeli Defence Minister Israel Katz declared on Monday that Israel intends to complete its military operations in Gaza and effect the removal of Palestinians from the region. Speaking on the ongoing conflict, Katz asserted that the Israeli offensive has already resulted in the displacement of approximately 70 per cent of Gaza's population since hostilities commenced in October 2023.

The statement reflects Israel's stated commitment to its military campaign in response to the cross-border attack launched by Hamas on October 7, 2023, which triggered the current conflict.
