Israeli Forces Kill Senior Hamas Financial Official in Operation

The Israeli Defense Forces announced on Tuesday that it had eliminated Mohammad Abu Alwan, a senior Hamas official who served as chief of the organization's financial operations. According to the IDF, Alwan held a critical position managing budgetary allocations across all branches of the Palestinian militant group.

The military statement indicated that Alwan played a key role in the financial infrastructure supporting Hamas operations. Officials said he was instrumental in coordinating fund transfers totaling more than one billion shekels, which the IDF characterized as being directed toward militant activities and armed wing operations.

The operation represents another significant blow to Hamas's senior leadership structure. The targeting of high-level financial officials reflects Israel's strategy of dismantling the organizational and logistical capabilities of the militant group, beyond direct military engagements.
