Immigration police apprehended the Israeli national following an investigation into his extended illegal stay in Thailand. According to arrest records, the man had overstayed his visa by approximately 2,095 days—roughly 5.7 years—making the violation one of the most egregious cases in recent memory. The arrest was conducted at a residence in Bangkok after authorities received information regarding his immigration status. During the operation, officers discovered crystal methamphetamine in his possession, leading to additional drug-related charges. The suspect is currently in custody pending further legal proceedings. Thai immigration authorities have intensified enforcement operations against foreign nationals who remain in the country beyond the validity of their visas. Overstaying visitors face significant fines, detention, and potential deportation. The combination of immigration violations and narcotics possession typically results in serious criminal charges under Thai law.
