Italian Foreign Minister's Personal Data Leaked on Dark Web

Antonio Tajani, who also serves as Italy's vice premier, announced the breach via social media, stating that his data had been circulating in encrypted internet forums for several days. He indicated that cybercriminals were soliciting payments from unknown parties in exchange for additional information about him and his relatives.

Tajani did not disclose the specific nature of the compromised information but confirmed that the threat remained active. "I will not allow myself to be intimidated in any way," he stated, emphasizing his resolve despite the security breach.

The foreign minister's disclosure coincides with a broader pattern of cyber incidents across Europe in recent weeks. The region has experienced hoax bomb threats resulting in flight diversions, security threats directed at media organizations, attacks on supermarket refrigeration infrastructure, and unauthorized drone incursions.

The incident highlights growing concerns about the vulnerability of high-ranking government officials to organized cyber threats. Tajani's case suggests that even senior state officials with access to sensitive information remain targets for criminal elements operating through anonymous digital channels.
