IUML advocates population-based Kerala district reorganisation for equitable resources

The Indian Union Muslim League (IUML) has advocated for a systematic reorganisation of Kerala's administrative districts based on population metrics to guarantee equitable resource allocation across the state. IUML Kerala General Secretary P.M.A. Salam issued the statement to clarify the party's position amid growing discussions surrounding the creation of a separate Muvattupuzha district. Salam emphasised that the League's support for district reorganisation should not be construed as a narrow demand to divide Malappuram district alone or to establish a new district headquartered in Tirur.
