Students at the Indian Veterinary Research Institute (IVRI) in Bareilly have intensified demands for a monthly internship stipend of Rs 25,000, citing disparities in compensation offered at other premier veterinary institutions nationwide.

The protesting students have pointed to substantially higher stipend packages available at Banaras Hindu University (BHU) and other leading veterinary colleges across India as justification for their demands. They argue that the current remuneration fails to adequately support students undertaking crucial internship periods and does not align with standards maintained by comparable institutions.

The stipend disparity has emerged as a key grievance among IVRI students, who contend that internship periods represent a critical phase in veterinary education requiring adequate financial support. The students have highlighted the need for parity in compensation structures across India's veterinary education sector.

The protest reflects broader concerns within India's veterinary education community regarding standardization of internship benefits and student welfare. IVRI, a premier institution under the Indian Council of Agricultural Research, has not yet publicly responded to the students' demands for enhanced stipend provisions.
