J&K Census fieldwork complete; data validation phase underway

Jammu and Kashmir has successfully concluded the Doorstep Census Household Block (DCHB) fieldwork, marking a significant milestone in preparations for Census 2027. The completion of this preliminary phase sets the stage for the next critical steps in the enumeration process, with training programs for population enumeration personnel now in progress across the region.

Following the completion of fieldwork, the data collected is undergoing rigorous scrutiny and validation procedures. Charge Officers have been tasked with rechecking and compiling the gathered information within a 15-day timeframe to ensure accuracy and completeness before forwarding it for higher-level review.

According to officials overseeing the census operations, the compiled data is expected to reach the Directorate by November 15. This timeline is critical for maintaining the momentum of census preparations and ensuring that the enumeration process remains on schedule for the 2027 census cycle.

The focus on training for population enumeration personnel reflects the administrative commitment to building a robust ground-level apparatus for the larger census exercise. As J&K progresses through this phase, officials emphasize the importance of data quality and systematic verification to ensure the accuracy of census records that will inform policy and planning decisions across multiple sectors.
