Jaguar Land Rover has confirmed that its inaugural electric Range Rover will be positioned as a luxury offering, with pricing exceeding $200,000 (approximately ₹16.6 million). The vehicle represents a significant milestone for the premium British brand as it accelerates its shift toward electrified powertrains.
The Range Rover Electric is engineered to deliver an estimated range of 372 miles—or 599 kilometers—on a single charge under test conditions. This capability positions it competitively within the luxury electric vehicle segment, particularly for customers prioritizing long-distance capability in an upscale package.
Charge speed represents another key selling point. The vehicle can replenish its battery from 10 percent to 80 percent capacity in just 22 minutes when connected to appropriate fast-charging infrastructure. This rapid-charging feature addresses one of the primary concerns among potential buyers of premium electric vehicles.
The pricing strategy reflects Jaguar Land Rover's positioning of the electric Range Rover as a luxury alternative to traditional petrol and diesel variants. The company is betting that affluent buyers will embrace electric technology when combined with the heritage and capability associated with the Range Rover nameplate.
The launch underscores intensifying competition in the premium electric vehicle market, where established luxury automakers vie with newer entrants to capture upscale buyers transitioning to zero-emission vehicles.
