A dispute at a religious facility in Jaipur's Ganesh Nagar locality escalated into violence on Sunday, leaving a senior priest with injuries. The altercation involved Ram Krishna, 63, a priest at the Shiv temple, and a younger man whose identity is still being established by authorities.
According to preliminary reports, tensions arose when the young man objected to the temple's sound system being played at high volume. What began as a verbal disagreement quickly turned physical, with the assailant allegedly subjecting the priest to repeated blows.
Temple staff intervened and separated the two after the assault. The injured priest was subsequently examined for injuries sustained during the incident. Local police have registered a case following a complaint lodged by temple management, and investigations into the matter are underway.
Authorities have not yet disclosed whether the assailant remains at large or if any arrests have been made. The incident has raised concerns about security measures at religious sites in the area.
