Jakim to summon Malaysian linked to Miss Equality World pageant

The Islamic Development Department (Jakim) has announced plans to summon a Malaysian linked to the Miss Equality World pageant, signalling the religious authority's firm stance on activities it considers at odds with Islamic principles.

Jakim director-general Sirajuddin Suhaimee said the department, working alongside state-level Islamic religious authorities, would not tolerate efforts to normalise such conduct. He did not elaborate on specific details regarding the individual or their role in the international pageant.
